NWA Anarchy TV Report
Episode 87
October 29, 2007
About one year ago, Anarchy TV would alternate from week to week as can’t miss TV, but that has changed within the past several months. Every episode in the past 3 – 4 months has enough storytelling in each episode that you just can’t miss an episode. In Anarchy news, Caleb Conley lost to Charlie Dreamer in the new ECWA promotion, which is not to be confused with the home of the Super 8.
WRESTLING: (n.) \’res-ling\ A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.
ANARCHY: (n.) \an-ar-key\ (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.
What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!
- Last week on NWA Anarchy TV, dissension continued amongst the NWA Elite when Jeff Lewis turned on Attorney/Agent Jeff G. Bailey. Things took a loony twist when Dominous attacked the Elite and unmasked himself to be Mikael Judas. The question is: Will Jeff Lewis & Judas unite to overcome the forces of the Elite? The Hollywood Brunettes opened their cosmetology school by shearing Adrian Hawkins’s hair after losing to Jeremy Vain. Color commentator John Johnson proclaimed that bald is beautiful. Also, Patrick Bentley defeated Slim J after running the gauntlet with the Devil’s Rejects. This week, the Anger Alliance battles the Urban Assault Squad & the Awesome Attraction. The main event features NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Ace Rockwell defending the winner of the Mega-Rumble Iceberg.
1. The Anger Alliance (Brody Ray Chase & Brandon Phoenix & Adam Roberts & Don Matthews) vs. Urban Assault Squad (Nemesis & Shadow Jackson) & the Awesome Attraction (Austin Creed & Hayden Young.)
The Anger Alliance has molded themselves after York Foundation. The heat is amazing as Creed displays his pugilistic skills on Chase, who just happens to escape the Monte Fisto by cringing. The action quickly spills to the floor where Young displays his aerial abilities by wiping everyone with a tope con hilo. After commercial, numerous “USA” chants echo throughout the NWA Arena as Creed outwrestles Phoenix. The Awesome Attraction use cohesive double team maneuvers to stagger Phoenix. The Urban Assault Squad dominates Roberts & Matthews using numerous power moves for the next several minutes. Chase embarrasses Young with the Big Boot. Young fights off AA in the corner, but Chase greets him with a slam variation. AA viciously assaults Young at ringside while the referee is distracted. After second commercial, Phoenix chops Chase’s back to prevent a pinning predicament. Merciless lands a middle rope knee and the BFK on the Attraction. The crowd rallies behind Young and he responds by eluding several strikes by the Alliance. Unfortunately, Chase cuts Young off at the Pass. Young buys himself more time with a Pele kick. Young stumbles to his corner to make the tag to Jackson. Jackson creams AA and kills Matthews with the spinebuster. However, Chase greets him with a stiff clothesline. Nemesis finally gets tired of referee Ken Wallace and shoves him aside. The referee immediately disqualifies the faces. A shouting match ensues between Nemesis and the Awesome Attraction. Shadow finally calms Nemesis down to temporarily quell the anger. UAS and the Attraction shake hands afterwards.
COMMENTS: This match worked on several levels by showing the Anger Alliance is a heel faction to be feared, the Awesome Attraction proved they belonged with top Anarchy talent and continued the UAS saga. Nemesis continues to foreshadow his eventual heel turn with sneaky shenanigans. Nemesis subtleness is really good.
- NWA Owner Jerry Palmer has an important message that John Johnson will hate. By the time Fright Night arrives, we will find out who will is the #1 contender to the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title. However, as usual, Palmer is rudely interrupted by unwanted guests, the Anger Alliance. Palmer informs the Alliance they are not the #1 contender, but they can earn it by winning the Mysterious Benefactor Tournament. AA departs with all smiles and it appears everyone is happy except for Chad Parham. You see, Chad has lost his kingdom, his precious NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title and pride. But apparently, Parham subscribes to the Vince McMahon’s philosophy towards tag team wrestling: people don’t pay to see them. Parham pregnant doges about something that no longer belongs to him and is quickly interrupted by Truitt Fields. Fields demands a TV Title shot. Palmer has a bright idea and books a match between them. The winner receives a shot at the respective champion. Afterwards, Johnson congratulates Palmer for a great idea. Global warming has sure infected Johnson’s mind.
- “Mr. Representation” Al Getz presents “She’s A Man” Melissa Coates. Getz predicts Coates will become the next NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion, no matter who it is. This week, Billy Buck answers the open challenge.
2. “Mrs. 97¾ on the Fujita Scale” Melissa Coates obliterated “Brokeback” Billy Buck.
The opinions expressed by John Johnson don’t necessarily reflect those of NWA Anarchy, the National Wrestling Alliance, thesuperstation.net, the TV station you’re currently watching or Larry Goodman. However, they are appreciated by yours truly. Coates thoroughly embarrasses, humiliates and desecrates Buck’s manhood. Coates repays Buck’s fine Southern gentleman gentleness with a sitout gourdbuster for the victory.
COMMENTS: I hope Buck was paid well to get his ass kicked by a woman.
3. Truitt Fields upset Chad Parham to earn a shot at NWA Anarchy TV Champion Jeremy Vain.
Fields demonstrates his physical prowess until Parham retreats to ringside. Parham suckers Fields to the floor and whips him into the ringside steps. Parham proves why he is called Technical Perfection while the announcing crew argues the merits of world class athletes. Parham humbles Fields while performing facial reconstructive surgery. Fields rallies behind the crowd and escapes a second humbling by backing Parham into the corner. Fields lands a series of shoulderblocks and a backdrop. Parham begs for mercy, lures Truitt in and slams his head on the middle turnbuckle. Fields quickly turns the favor back with a powerslam. Both wrestlers attempt his respective finisher, but in the end it’s the Killing Fields that reigns supreme.
COMMENTS: If I had not read the results two months ago, I would have never guessed Parham would cleanly lose to a midcarder. Fields’ & Shatter’s stock has risen exponentially and deservedly so since breaking up several months ago. It’s a big gamble by pushing both wrestlers as singles stars, but it’s paid off so far.
4. “the Universal Soldier” Phil Shatter pinned Ace Rockwell to capture the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title.
Rockwell is at a noticeable size and appendage disadvantage against Shatter. Shatter taunts Rockwell regarding his small stature. Rockwell responds by pregnant dog slapping Shatter and sends him flying to the wooden Arena floor by pulling down the top rope. Rockwell fires away at Shatter and shoulderblocks him from the apron to the floor. Rockwell attempts a slingshot plancha, but Shatter tosses him back into the ring. Rockwell makes him pay with a drop toe hold a dropkick. Shatter blocks an Irish whips and counters with a spinebuster. The crowd rallies behind Ace, but another section routs for Shatter. After commercial, Bailey punts Rockwell. In the ring, Rockwell fires away after Shatter showboats. Rockwell smartly lands a dropkick to Shatter’s knee. Rockwell makes a near grave error by heading to the High Rent District, but manages to catch Shatter with a cross bodyblock for a near fall. Shatter repays Rockwell with a powerslam. He sets up for the PTSD powerbomb, but Rockwell escapes by biting his knee. Rockwell executes the Ace’s High. The referee counts, 1… 2… but Shatter kicks out! Only Rockwell is more stunned than Greg Hunter. Shatter backs Rockwell into the corner and sits him on the top turnbuckle. Shatter wastes time and Rockwell shoves him aside. Rockwell leaps and goes for a top rope Ace’s High, but Shatter surprises him with the PTSD powerbomb. Shatter makes an Undertaker style cover for the pinfall victory. Afterwards, Johnson orders Alejandro for another pair of pants because he pissed in them. Abomination, Kory Chavis, Phil Shatter and Jeff G Bailey celebrate another championship. Mikael Judas enters, poses and disapproves of Shatter.
COMMENTS: Both wrestlers told a good story with Shatter using his power and Rockwell trying to outsmart him. It’s a tremendous gamble placing the belt around a rookie’s waist. With the right booking and more seasoning, Shatter will be a force to deal with. Rockwell put on a gutsy performance despite a bad knee.
OVERALL: This was another good episode of Anarchy TV. The show featured the right amount of storytelling mixed with good wrestling. The eight man tag was surprisingly enjoyable despite having tons of talent on display. However, there were two major nuances: (1) it was never explained why Shatter replaced Iceberg in the main event. And (2) the crowd appeared to be burned out after eight man tag. So much happened on the first half of the television taping (episode #86) that the crowd wasn’t popping as loud as earlier in the program.
