The Sheik is an indy wrestler out of FL, who used to be known as one half of Black Market, Joey Machete.
He is a throwoff of Abdullah the Butcher, Bruiser Brody, and the Original Sheik in his violent mannerisms and actions. His crowd reactions are spectacular as he legit has the crowd scatter when he enters the arena.
My understanding is that he received permission from Sabu at a show in FL as he was going by Sheik Ali Azzad. He explained to Sabu that he was paying homage to the Original Sheik and Sabu told him to "Drop the Ali Azzad", so he did.
