NWA Anarchy TV Report
Episode 79
September 3, 2007
This week’s edition of NWA Anarchy is a highlight package of Hostile Environment.
WRESTLING: (n.) \’res-ling\ A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.
ANARCHY: (n.) \an-ar-key\ (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.
What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!
- We begin this week’s edition of Anarchy with a replay setting up the three way ladder match between the Awesome Attraction, the Hollywood Brunettes and Seth Delay & Adrian Hawkins. Then, Azreal pinned Kory Chavis after Bailey’s interference backfired.
- John Johnson is sporting a white suit that makes him look like a million bucks. You can hear all the chicks dog calling him in the empty Georgia Mountain Center. This week, we will see highlights of Hostile Environment.
- Sal Rinauro vs. Todd Sexton: Rinauro paid the price when he pulled his kneepads down. Sexton immediately when to work on Rinauro’s exposed knee with a top rope shinbreaker. Sexton slapped on the figure 4 to earn the tapout victory.
- Patrick Bentley vs. Slim J: Both wrestlers headed into Gainesville with two victories each. Slim J uses his craftiness to escape a top rope Dark Driver and tosses Bentley off to win the series. Afterwards, Slim J grabbed the mike and proved his point: he brought the wrestler in Bentley. J didn’t offer Bentley any tea and crumpets like Lord Steven Regal would enjoy, but he did offer to be his tag partner. J raised Bentley’s hand in victory, but Bentley had already found his Darkside. Bentley attacked J and killed him with the Cornelia Destroyer. This signaled for Reverend Dan Wilson’s entrance. Bentley welcomes the Reverend by embracing him.
- Wilson is salivating that Bentley will no longer wonder aimlessly without a shepherd. Bentley has found the love he never found during his childhood. Wilson proclaims himself, Bentley’s FATHER~!
- Mikki Free vs. Shadow Jackson: Free battled the “One Eyed Bandit” Shadow Jackson in a chain match. As Johnson has mentioned before, you can’t spell Mississippi with only one eye. Jackson won with a spinebuster out of nowhere. Afterwards, Jerry Palmer receives five minutes with Al Getz. Getz took advantage of a knocked out Palmer and choked with a chain. Palmer rallies the crowd, fights up and clotheslines Mr. Representation. Palmer wraps the chain around his wrist and clotheslines Getz with it. Hunter commands Palmer to decapitate Getz. I’m sure Sub Zero would approve that command. Palmer puts away Getz with a powerslam. Unfortunately, Palmer’s celebration is short lived when the dude with the hood appears. He pulls of his outfit and it’s Melissa Coates! He carries. Uh, I mean, she carries Getz outside the GMC. With Getz out of the picture, Nemesis reappears and fired up as he rejoins his brethren.
- Awesome Attraction vs. the Hollywood Brunettes vs. Seth Delay & Adrian Hawkins. Next up, we have highlights of what was called an incredible match by Larry Goodman. The Awesome Attraction lit up the competition with high flying antics and high impact maneuvers. Two things are for sure, (1) Damien Wayne admires tall ladders and raptors and would have been at home in this match and (2) the Awesome Attraction put on a show and a half en route to retaining the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles.
- Chad Parham vs. Ace Rockwell: Chad Parham and Ace Rockwell finally faced off after months of buildup. The match suddenly ended when Parham intentionally nailed the referee. Because Parham was DQed, Rockwell did not capture the title. Have no fear, Jerry Palmer is hear to save the say. Palmer orders a no DQ rematch in two weeks. I love simple and effective old school booking.
- The main event of Hostile Environment was the War Games match between the Devil’s Rejects and the NWA Elite. Abomination left the cage to fetch a table. Meanwhile, Bailey used the Implement of Destruction to carve Wilson’s head. Wilson escapes a dropkick from Bailey as Dominous appears. Wilson pulled out the Sword of a 1,000 Screams and unleashed Unholy Hell upon Bailey. Where is Abdullah the Butcher when you need him? In the corner, Shatter uses baby powder to blind Iceberg and proceeds to superplex him! The action continued when Kory Chavis connects with a humongous Spinesplitta on Azreal through two tables. The match ends when Iceberg tapped out when Shatter continued to drive a sharp wooden plank into this throat. Chavis had to pull Shatter off when he refuses to relinquish the hold.
1. Jeremy Vain battled Truitt Fields to a 10 minute time limit draw to retain the NWA Anarchy TV Title.
Johnson compares Vain’s stalling tactics to a quarterback dropping to his knee. Shatter dominated the offense as Vain resorts to the old Tar Heel four corners offense. Vain takes over when Fields posts his shoulder and lands a legdrop with Fields lying on the middle rope. To the floor, Vain chops and posts Fields. Back in the ring, Vain makes Shatter pay with an enziguri after embarrassing him with a Sunset flip. Vain kills more time by applying a sleeper. Shatter powers out of the VDT ‘06 and lands a flying forearm for a two count. Truitt lands a series of shouldertackles and press slams Vain with one minute remaining. Fields makes a slow cover and only scores a two count. Moments later, they collide in the corner. Fields executes the Fields slam, but the time limit expires. Fields wants five more minutes, but Vain smartly slithers away.
