NWA Anarchy TV Taping Report: 9-1-07
- The NWA Elite ("The Soul Assassin" Kory Chavis, "The Human Holocaust" Abomination, NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion: "The Universal Soldier" Phil Shatter & Attorney Jeff G. Bailey) crashed the beginning of the television tapings to celebrate the NEW Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Phil Shatter, and all the Elite's recent success. Talk turned sour when the subject of Mikal Judas (Bailey:"Mikal Judas, you are a germ, a pest, a dissemminator of disease who must be destroyed for the benefit of all mankind"), and "The Feature Presentation" (or as Bailey called him, "Straight To Video") Jeff Lewis. He re-iterates that in the main event of hour #2, "The man who'll smother your mother, and make your sister think he loves her" Kory Chavis will make an example out Lewis, and show him and everyone else just what happens to turncoats. Suddenly, the arena went dark and the ominous mug of Mikal Judas appeared on WRESTLEVISION. He explained why he returned, that Bailey had left him to die in Puerto Rico, and The Devil's Rejects stomped his guts out at Season's Beatings and he had revenge in mind for both. He closed with "may god have mercy on your souls"....
1) Tony Santorelli defeated Billy Buck in around 5 minutes.
-"Wild" Billy Buck put up a fight, as he always does, but just wasn't able to overcome the more seasoned Santorelli. Much to the dismay of everyone, Santorelli picks up a fairly effortless victory.
Mysterious Benefactor Memorial Tag Team Cup Qualifying Match:
2) Derrick Driver & Steven Walters defeated Anarchy Television Champion Jeremy Vain & Mr. Adonis in around 11 minutes.
- This match was made by Jerry Palmer as a result of Jeremy Vain balking out of his scheduled Television Championship defense against Truitt Fields citing the champions advantage of only having to defend the title every 30 days. Vain said he & Adonis should also be Anarchy Tag Team Champions and this was the first step. Vain & Adonis used their underhanded tactics to control the majority of the match. When Driver & Walters fought back, Vain ultimately used a chain behind the refs back to KO Walters for the pinfall. This prompted Truitt Fields to appear and explain what happened to referee Ken Wallace. Wallace found the chain and ordered the match re-started. The suprise of the moment allowed Driver & Walters to recover and score the biggest upset on Anarchy television in quite some time.
- John "The Body" Johnson appeared on WRESTLEVISION backstage with Anarchy owner Jerry Palmer referencing how the outcome of the prior match effects the Benefactor Tournament. They were interupted by The Hollywood Brunettes (Andrew Alexander & Kyle Matthews) complaining about the absence of Adryan Hawkins (which they caused), and stating that they deserve a bye in the tournament as a result. Palmer made a singles match between Alexander & Hawkin's World's Prettiest Tag Team Partner "Kool" Seth Delay to determine who advances in the tournament. Johnson then read aloud a very long, and very obnoxious letter from former NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion: Chad Parham, basically complaining about how Parham has been screwed since he lost the title and demanding the respect he rightfully deserves. Palmers response was and I quote "Boo Hoo, Cry me a river".
3) "Kool" Seth Delay defeated "The Wizard of Aaaaaaaahs" Andrew Alexander via DQ in around 7 minutes.
- Tightly contested back and forth contest that really had Alexander resorting to every dirty trick he had in an effort to contain Delay. "Too Hot For TV" Kyle Matthews played the role of manager, but still looked more the part of tag team partner as he liberally interfered in the contest. Delay's heart and cunning allowed him to thwart their best attacks and even hit the Kool Krusher on Alexander but Matthews hit the ring for the DQ and another disgusting attack from The Brunettes commenced. They hit a number of vicious double team moves, including their dreaded "Sheeny Curse" and left Delay looking much like his partner Adryan Hawkins did last week (sans the haircut), and that was beaten to a pulp.
4) Hour 1 Main Event:
Mysterious Benefactor Memorial Tag Team Cup: Round 1 Match
The Urban Assault Squad (Nemesis & Shadow Jackson) defeated The Devil's Rejects (Azrael & Shaun Tempers w/ The Rev) in around 12 minutes in a hard hitting, well received contest
- The Rejects and The UAS are very familiar rivals, and apparantly the Cornelia fans still love to see them go at it as the reaction was ear splitting (as it was for much of the action on the card...this crowd is hot). Azrael & Nemesis got things cooking right off the bat with a chop war that most normal humans couldn't handle. Both men wore huge welts on their chests, backs, and hands....and The UAS were thinking on their feet. A quick tag to Shadow saw him neutralize the hands of Azrael, and saw Jackson punish the already beaten hands of "The Son Of Satan"...very clever. The Rejects took the advantage with a low blow behind the refs back and cut Shadow off from Nemesis' half of the ring for a lengthy period. A miscommunication in the corner allowed Jackson to make the big tag to Nemesis finally, and he came in guns blazing, beating Azrael all over the ring. In a human sacrifice move, Nemesis sent Azrael into Shadow Jackson headfirst and hit the King Kong Slam on Azrael for the 1, 2, 3 as the crowd went wild and the UAS advanced in the tournament.
- Intermission -
Hour #2
5) "Violent Passion" Patrick Bentley w/ The Rev defeated "Skaterboy" Chris King with The Dark Driver in around 4 minutes.
Bentley is becoming more consumed with evil each week under the tutelidge of The Reverend. This week he had "I Killed Slim" carved into his chest. King has the support of the women & children at the NWA Arena, but he needed a whole lot more than that to overcome the newest member of the Devil's Rejects. Bentley looked toward The Reverend for approval each time he damaged his opponent. This almost cost Bentley as he underestimated King a time or two, but was able to absorb the pain....it almost looked like he enjoyed it. One mistake from King, and Bentley seized on it like a shark hungry for blood. Sick looking Dark Driver = All she wrote. As The Reverend & Bentley held a public display of paternal affection, Slim J's face appeared on WRESTLEVISION. He said all he did was try and help Patrick, and this is where it got him. He proceeded to attack Bentley's insecurities as Wilson tried to cover his ears and Slim let him know that his payback was coming around the corner.
6) NWA Anarchy Tag Team Champions: The Awesome Attraction (Hayden Young & Austin Creed) defeated Talent & Money (J.T. Talent & Andrew Pendleton III) in around 8 minutes in non title action.
- Pendleton & Talent gelled well for their first outing as a team on Anarchy television and definately made an impression. The Awesome Attraction are one of the hottest properties going in Anarchy right now. They're a great team, with great attitudes, who are great sports and they connect with the audience as well as anyone. They're also very exciting to watch when on the offensive. Talent & Money gave it a go, but the inexperience just wasn't enough to hang with the #1 tag team in Anarchy. Awesome Attraction picks up the win with the Monte Fisto/Flying Squirell combo.
- On WRESTLEVISION, Tony Santorelli is seen lurking about backstage when he hears a commotion...and it's coming from the dressing room of Melissa Coates? Coates answers the door with an abrasive "WHAT!?".....Tony asks is everything's okay. Coates asks, "remember Al?......we broke up", as a camera pans to the unconcious body of Al Getz. Tony apparantly sees this as an opportunity for himself, and asks Melissa to take a stroll and talk "business".
Mysterious Benefactor Memorial Tag Team Cup Round 1:
7) The Anger Alliance (Brody Ray Chase & Brandon Phoenix) def. "The Technician" Todd Sexton & Wes Grissom due to interference from Tony Santorelli & Melissa Coates in around 9 minutes.
- The Anger Alliance was able to use their experience to alienate Wes Grissom in their corner for the majority of this contest. Grissom held on though, showing while his wrestling lacks seasoning, his time as a referee gave him great ring positioning. He was always quick to get to a rope, or avoid a sure fire finishing attack. Sexton finally got the tag and cleaned house but when he went to apply the Sharpshooter, Santorelli & Coates got involved, and AA was able to capitalize and advance in the tournament.
8) "The Feature Presentation" Jeff Lewis defeated "The Soul Assassin" Kory Chavis by DQ when Shatter & Abomination hit the ring...
- This was the much anticipated first encounter between Jeff Lewis & one of his former tag team partners, stablemates, and traveling partners, representing the NWA Elite - Kory Chavis. (Which, in case you've been living under a rock - Jeff Lewis quit the NWA Elite at the last television taping after being put to the backburner by Jeff G. Bailey in events following Phil Shatter's induction, he was attacked by the Elite and saved by the returning Mikal Judas, who's now back full time from Puerto Rico) These two bulls traded fists, fury and strategy trying to gain advantage in the early going of this match. Lewis has gained a considerable fan following, something that we saw growing during the NWA Elite's feud with The Devil's Rejects, and reached it's apex thus far and has maintained, when he told Bailey to take a hike. Chavis was eventually able to gain a consistant advantage and he threw the kitchen sink at lewis trying to put him away, he hit the shining wizard, The Dark City Slam, and The Spinesplitta all to no success, Lewis fought him off and hit the Final Curtain but Bailey sent in the troops before he could get the glory of a pinfall victory. Shatter hit the PTSD on Lewis, and Abomination hit The Final Solution....they may have been on the verge of inflicting a career ending concussion, but Dominous!!!!!!! of all people (or is it things?) walked in the front door....Abomination freaked and chased after him. The lights then flickered, and MIKAL JUDAS appeared and attacked! He laid out Chavis with The One Man Mafia kick on the floor and planted NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion: Phil Shatter with a chokeslam. He then ceremoniously laid the NWA Anarchy Championship Belt in the ring and made it clear it was his objective before he slithered off into the darkness.
Notes: Anarchy returns to the NWA Arena with the final TV Taping before Fright Night 2007, which will occur a month early this year on Saturday, September 28th back home at the NWA Arena. The next TV Taping date is Saturday Night September 16th, 8:00 PM Bell time. More matches in the Mysterious Benefactor Memorial Tag Team Cup Tournament, with the winners getting a guaranteed shot at the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Championship at Fright Night. Anarchy officials are scouting out all possible challengers for Phil Shatter's first big Anarchy Championship defense in the Arena. It will come at Fright Night, but the jury is out on who the opponent will be. Mikal Judas has obviously staked his claim, and being a former World Champion of the IWA in Puerto Rico certainly validates that claim. If Ace Rockwell has recovered from his injury, will he cash in his re-match clause? What about the MIA Iceberg? He earned the right to a title shot, that he has technically never received...but where the hell is he? These questions and more will be answered on September 16th. See Anarchy stars around the state, and in a town near you to hold you over until the next Anarchy event!
