NWA Anarchy TV Report
Episode 89
November 12, 2007
On episode 88 of NWA Anarchy TV, the Hollywood Brunettes provided great entertainment with a ruthless chair bashing on Seth Delay, the Urban Assault Squad defeated the Devil’s Rejects after Nemesis sacrificed his own tag partner Shadow Jackson to advance in the Mysterious Benefactor Tournament and Mikal Judas delivered scathing commentary regarding Jeff G. Bailey’s recent actions.
WRESTLING: (n.) \’res-ling\ A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.
ANARCHY: (n.) \an-ar-key\ (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.
What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!
- Last week on Anarchy TV, Steven Walters & Derek Driver embarrassed NWA Anarchy TV Champion Jeremy Vain & “His Bodyguard” Mr. Rob Adonis to advance to the Benefactor Tournament, UAS defeated Azreal & Shaun Tempers, and The World’s Prettiest Tag Team’s chances are slim for entering the tournament after receiving a pair of beat downs of ultimate proportions. This week, Wes Grissom & Todd Sexton battle Anger Alliance members Brody Ray Chase & Brandon Phoenix, and “the Feature Presentation” Jeff Lewis vs. “the Soul Assassin” Kory Chavis in a battle of former NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champions.
1. Patrick Bentley w/”Reverend” Dan Wilson & His Staff of Righteousness pinned “Skater Boy” Chris King.
Bentley greets King with a heavenly pummeling and humbling. Johnson notes Bentley’s chest reads “I killed Slim J,” which if I remember correctly, is a play on Greg Valentine wearing a shirt, “I broke Wahoo’s leg.” King outquicks Bentley and lands an enziguri. Bentley absorbs the enziguri and destroys King with the Dark Driver. Afterwards, Bentley tosses King and worships his lordship Wilson. Slim J suddenly appears on the Wrestle Vision 5000 and voices his displeasure toward Bentley’s heel turn. Slim is ready to hurt, hurt, and hurt Bentley. Slim concludes, “It wasn’t because of me, but it was in spite of me.” Powerful words spoken indeed. The lights turn back on and Wilson consoles Bentley.
COMMENTS: Bentley was really into his character tonight.
2. The Awesome Attraction (“Awesome” Austin Creed & “I Know I Can Fly” Hayden Young) defeated Talent & Money (JT Talent & Andrew Pendleton III)
Obviously, the tag team of Sex & Money is history. Sigh that was truly one of the greatest tag team names in recent memory. That’s okay; JT Talent has entered the scene to transform the name to Talent & Money. It’s still catchy though. J Johnson notes the Cornelia Health Department has deemed Austin Creed’s hair as a health hazard. It could be worse; Pat Anderson could be spewing geysers of mumbo jumbo featuring triple ellipses. Creed embarrasses Talent & Money with a double coconut. Young, who is sporting a new haircut, dominates the heels until he becomes trapped in their corner. They isolate Young until he counters Pendleton with a back suplex into a slam. Creed receives the hot tag and Young puts Pendleton away with a guillotine legdrop.
COMMENTS: This was alright semi-squash for the champions. Talent & Money was able to sustain a lengthy attack on Young before taking the clean pinfall.
- Tony Santerelli investigates an one-sides backstage brawl. He knocks on the locker room door and discovers Melissa Coates has literally destroyed Al Getz. Coates pronounces her breakup with Al and leaves with Santerelli to discuss personal business.
3. The Anger Alliance (“Stray Cat” Brody Ray Chase & Brandon Phoenix) defeated Todd Sexton & Wes Grissom.
Brody Ray greets Grissom with a heavenly knee to the gut. Grissom takes personal exception and embarrasses Chase by displaying amazing feats of speed. Johnson notes the Anger Alliance remotely resembles the Hart Foundation as Grissom lands a slingshot dropkick on Phoenix in the corner. The Anger Alliance has a reputation to uphold and the Stray Cat plants Grissom with a spinning powerslam. Chase scorns Sexton, Grissom and the crowd. The Stray Cat follows up with a delayed vertical suplex. They drag Grissom to the corner and Adam Roberts way lays a cheap shot. After commercial, Chase punishes Grissom’s Sunset flip attempt with a nice sitout powerbomb. Phoenix unleashes a high knee after Grissom scores a one count on a cross bodyblock. The crowd commences a “She’s a man” chant as Melissa Coates enters the NWA Arena. The Alliance continues to work over Grissom as Coates observes from ringside. Grissom buys himself time with a desperation Muta like double kick. Sexton receives the hot tag and he fires away on the Alliance. Sexton tosses Grissom into Phoenix and applies the Sharpshooter on Phoenix. Coates decides to rudely interject herself and allows Santerelli to bum rush Sexton. Phoenix makes the cover for the victory. Coates & Santerelli celebrates as Chase struts a victory pose.
COMMENTS: Chase was awesome as a heel here. The match lasted about two minutes longer than it should have, but Grissom played a decent face-in-peril. Grissom’s charisma, in ring experience as a referee, and working with ring veterans gives him an advantage that most rookies don’t have.
4. “The Feature Presentation” Jeff Lewis defeated “the Soul Assassin” Kory Chavis with Jeff G Bailey & “Universal Soldier” Phil Shatter & “Human Holocaust” Abomination by DQ.
After an interruption, Chavis takes Lewis out with a sitout gourdbuster. After commercial regarding terminal boredom, Lewis escapes a chinlock after rallying behind the crowd. Lewis fights back with a flapjack to buy himself a desperate breather. Lewis gains a second offense and goes on an offensive flurry. Lewis escapes the Dark City Street Cutter and hits the Final Curtain. Bailey delivers instructions to his troops and NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Phil Shatter clotheslines Lewis. Abomination and Bailey join in the desecration on Lewis. Abomination delivers the Final Solution tree slam to Lewis. As the NWA Elite is prepared to destroy Lewis, Dominous appears at the main entrance and Abomination gives chase. The lights flicker and Judas appears. Judas Mafia kicks Chavis before attempting to manhandle Shatter. Shatter attempts a belt shot, but Judas kills him with a chokeslam on the belt. The crowd chants “Mikal Judas” as he commandeers and poses with the belt. Shatter regains possession of the title as Judas exits through the crowd.
COMMENTS: The ending was intriguing to say the least.
OVERALL: This week’s edition of Anarchy TV was tuned down compared to recent episodes. It focused on furthering the storylines of recent blockbuster storylines involving the NWA Elite, Bentley vs. Slim J and Santerelli vs. Sexton feud.
TECHINCAL NOTE: I was unable to watch the opening moments to the main events for unknown reasons. I’ll post a follow-up after downloading the mp4 file.
