NWA Anarchy TV Report
Episode 91
November 26, 2007
WRESTLING: (n.) \’res-ling\ A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.
ANARCHY: (n.) \an-ar-key\ (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.
What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!
- Last week on Anarchy TV, Adrian Hawkins responded to the Reverend Dan Wilson’s offer to join the Devil’s Rejects with a “HELL NO~” The Rejects showed their gratitude with the Hellhammer on Hawkins and the Dark Driver on Slim J.
- We are one week away from Fright Night 2007. Last week on Anarchy TV, NWA Anarchy TV Champion Jeremy Vain, with Mr. Rob Adonis, miraculously recovered from a leg injury suffered in a title defense against Truitt Fields. Unfortunately for the champ, he must defend against Fields for the 27 millionth time. Also, the Hollywood Brunettes advanced to the second round of the Mysterious Benefactor Tournament after Adrian Hawkins plastered them with numerous chair shots. Afterwards, Hawkins paid the ultimate price for refusing an offer from the Rejects. This week, the Anger Alliance takes on Derik Driver & Steven Walters and Mikal Judas teams with Jeff Lewis to battle NWA Elite member Kory Chavis & NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Phil Shatter.
1. The Anger Alliance (Adam Roberts & Don Matthews) defeated Steven Walters & Derik Driver to advance to the finals of the Mysterious Benefactor Tournament.
After commercial break, Johnson informs us that government regulations prevent any further employment for Alejandro. The Anger Alliance takes over when Roberts sends Walters cascading to the floor with the Big Boot of Doom. The Alliance worked over Walters until he counters a back suplex with the dreaded enziguri. Driver receives the hot tag, but Matthews receives the hot tag and destroys him with the LARIAT OF DOOM~!
COMMENTS: The Anger Alliance has all four members in the Benefactor Finals. Will they display teamwork or dissension amongst the ranks?
- The Anger Alliance sans Brody Ray Chase celebrate multiple victories in the Benefactor Tournament in what can only be described as urinating inducing laughter. Okay, so I’m over doing the humor aspect. Anyways, Robert proclaims that Matthews & he will prove to be the superior tag team in Double A and will secure a tag title shot against the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Champions the Awesome Attraction. The Merciless One interjects himself before Brandon Phoenix can defend himself. Matthews indicates the Anger Alliance are a FIST~! As the leader of the group, Roberts says there are four members. Phoenix responds that a fist has FIVE fingers. (This is entertainment.) According to Matthews, each individual digit that bends at a 45 degree angle represents a member of the Alliance. “The thumb works adversely to the fingers at a 90 degree angle. Therefore, forming the complete fist. We are a fist.” (This is so off the wall that I can’t make this up.) Phoenix wishes to inform Brady of the truce. Remember, the four fingers is the symbol success, WHOO~!
- Next up, Greg Hunter interviews the longest reigning tag team champions in Anarchy history, the Awesome Attraction (Austin Creed & Hayden Young.) Creed’s belt buckle is walking billboard that quite found around many a females waist in the hood. (Rex Sterling of North Carolina also carries the New School Title that has two electronic message displays.) Okay, so I don’t live in the hood anymore and now work on the Rez. They hype their upcoming title defense at Fright Night until the Anger Alliance launches an all out assault on the Attraction. Matthews clobbers the Attraction with a double clothesline. The Urban Assault Squad evens the odds out and help eliminate the Alliance. Nemesis decks Hayden Young after they back into the each other. Austin Creed & Shadow Jackson pulls their respective partners back. Aside from a few squeamish teeny boppers and young children, the crowd wasn’t very receptive to the segment. Nemesis threatens to bust a cap in the Attraction’s posterior.
2. Patrick Bentley desecrated Jesse Emerson via submission.
Bentley’s look and demeanor sure have evolved over the past week. Bentley dominates his much larger adversary and indirectly employs Japanese psychology by finishing him with a Roach Clip variation.
POSTMATCH: Dan Wilson supposes this is how it will be for Anarchy. The Rejects have been disrespected for the last time. Even the monkeys that run this show called Anarchy that “we sell tickets.” Wilson issues an open challenge to the maggot Adrian Hawkins & Slim J & any mystery partner for a six man no disqualification street fight at Fright Night.
COMMENTS: Wilson’s mike work was fantastic here. The submission finish made sense since it was nearly impossible for him to do the Dark Driver on Emerson.
- Attorney/Agent Jeff G Bailey proclaims it is a disappointment to everyone that the One Man Genocide has no opponent at Fright Night. Iceberg is in parts unknown while Mikal Judas has failed to earn a title shot. Remember, standing across the ring from Shatter is like standing in front of a loaded gun. Bailey rambles about the “Cowardly Backstabbing Traitorous Turncoat” Jeff Lewis. He issues a first blood challenge to “the cur” to face the “Ruthless Villain” Kory Chavis. Bailey promises that Chavis will force Lewis to drown in his own blood.
3. Mikal Judas & “the Feature Presentation” Jeff Lewis defeated “One Man Genocide” Phil Shatter & “the Ruthless Villain” Kory Chavis.
Judas delivers a custom made beat down in the opening moments including a nice top rope forearm blast to Chavis. Judas calls out Shatter for a momentary stare down before tagging out to Lewis. Lewis turns his attention to Chavis and receives the Greco Roman eyepoke for his troubles. Lewis rebounds off the ropes and Shatter greets him with an impressive gorilla press slam to the Arena floor. Judas & Shatter have another momentary stare down at ringside. Shatter retreats back to the ring and dominates Lewis with shear brutality. Nice emphasis on Shatter’s hesitating to face off with Judas. The Soul Assassin connects with the Shining Wizard to Lewis before tagging out to Shatter. Shatter continues to deliver a brutal beat down to Lewis. Lewis responds to the crowd chanting his name by reversing a move by Chavis. After commercial, Judas & Shatter tag in for a battle of epic proportions. Judas gains the early advantage before double clotheslining each other. Meanwhile, Chavis busts Lewis wide open on the steal ring post. Dominous enters the front door to confront the Elite. Back in the ring, Shatter delivers a brutal spinebuster to Judas. Judas counters Chavis with a leaping clothesline and tosses Shatter to the floor. Chavis uses the Power of the Matrix to escape the Big Boot of Doom by Judas, but not even Ruthless Villain can withstand the powerful chokeslam.
POSTMATCH: NWA Anarchy Owner Jerry Palmer enters the NWA Arena to inform everyone that Phil Shatter will defend the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title against Mikal Judas. Palmer scorns Bailey after he cries like a little pregnant dog. “King Kong vs. Godzilla. You got your match, they got theirs.”
OVERALL: This was a good setup show heading into Fright Night. My worst impression is that the main events for Fright Night were rushed after a nice pacing of booking throughout the summer. Also, Fright Night in September just doesn’t have the impact it would have near Halloween. Overall, a good show with more emphasis on advancing storylines and less on wrestling.
EDIT: It would have been nice to recap the lineup for Fright Night at the end of the show.
