NWA Anarchy TV Report
Episode 95
December 24, 2007
Vanguard Championship Wrestling ran an incredible show out of Virginia Beach last Saturday. Everyone busted their posteriors and had great matches from the opening contest to the main event. Many wrestlers who work for NWA Virginia, NWA Southern Pro and other some northeastern NWA promotions work for VCW. The greatest news is that 10 bags of toys were collected for the less fortunate. As a thought, may everyone throughout the land have a Merry Christmas. Remember to keep your thoughts and prayers for our troops in Iraq and other overseas locations.
WRESTLING: (n.) \’res-ling\ A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.
ANARCHY: (n.) \an-ar-key\ (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.
What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!
- Welcome to another exciting edition of NWA Anarchy Wrestling because this is PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING~! Last week on Anarchy TV, Krazy K returned after suffering a collapsed lung and tagged with Seth Delay against the Hollywood Brunettes. Krazy K received a vicious postmatch beatdown. Truitt Fields ended his war with Jeremy Vain by successfully defeating him in a rematch for the NWA Anarchy TV Title. Finally, NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Phil Shatter, Mikal Judas and Iceberg confronted each other and set up for a tag match of Godzilla proportions: Shatter & Abomination vs. the unholy alliance of Judas & Iceberg. This week, Adam Roberts returns to Anarchy and faces NWA Anarchy TV Champion Truitt Fields and the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Champions the Awesome Attraction & Slim J take on the Devil’s Rejects.
1. Wes Grissom & “Skaterboy” Chris King vs. Talent & Money (JT Talent & Andrew Pendleton III)
Our heel color commentator continues to spew hatred toward “Technicolor Challenged” Todd Sexton and why he will not accept Grissom’s challenge. It’s evident that Sexton is mesmerized by Grissom’s dazzling maneuvers like the satellite head scissors take down on Talent. Skaterboy tags in and uses his quickness to keep one step ahead of Pendleton. Pendleton swings the momentum in his team’s favor with a brutal neckbreaker across the knee. Now that was money. Talent & Money wipe out King with a double STO for a near fall. Sensing danger, King lands an enziguri to buy himself time to make the hot tag to Grissom. Grissom cleans house on Pendleton with an offensive flurry until Talent breaks the pinfall attempt. The referee escorts Talent to his corner, which allows King to toss Pendleton off the top rope and Grissom to score the pinfall with a shooting star press. Wow, Grissom got major air on that shooting star press. Billy Kidman would be proud.
COMMENTS: This was a good formulaic tag match with a good finish. I love the booking here because it headlined the undercard talent and was long enough to highlight strengths and hide weaknesses.
- John Johnson and the Anger Alliance are up next for an interview. Unfortunately, Melissa Coates interrupts Johnson and is pissed that he could be the secret admirer. Coates threatens to dismember Johnson’s Johnson if any further harassment ensues. Well, back to the interview, Don Matthews is in a daze when Brandon Phoenix awakes him. Adam Roberts interrupts the interview and proclaims himself leader of the Anger Alliance. Brody Ray Chase objects, but Roberts interjects himself and promises to remember Phoenix, Matthews and Chase when his hand is raised when he captures the NWA Anarchy TV Title from Truitt Fields. Chase admits to royally kissing the bookerman’s posterior and immediately cuts of the interview never was. d**n, Chase’s facial expressions of bewilderment were funny as hell.
2. Truitt Fields pinned Adam Roberts to retain the NWA Anarchy TV Title.
Roberts immediately goes to work by escaping a headlock with shots to Fields’ ribs and posting his shoulder in classic Minnesota Wrecking Crew fashion. He applies some Old School psychology by working over Fields’ shoulder, including the hammerlock slam. Greg Hunter mentions the Minnesota Wrecking Crew and Johnson replies “Demolition.” I kid you not. Fields gains the advantage until Roberts sits him on top. Roberts wastes valuable time and Fields lands a bulldog. Fields makes the cover as Brody Ray Chase strolls to ringside. Fields escapes the Main Event Slam and lands a pair of shoulderblocks. Roberts ditches Fields on the third attempt and tosses him to the floor. Roberts turns his attention to Chase and Fields takes advantage with the Rock Bottom.
COMMENTS: This Anger Alliance storyline could be booked any number of ways and still come off strong. It’s good to see a title match end with a clean finish.
3. “The Ruthless Villain” Kory Chavis w/Jeff G Bailey destroyed “Brokeback” Billy Buck.
Johnson would like thank everyone in Cornelia who helped prevent Global Warming and conserved water by not taking baths for six months. Wow, that’s pretty low. Anytime the heel color commentator dubs you “Brokeback,” you’ll more than likely to get destroyed every time you hit the ring. King tries to fight back, but Chavis absolutely destroys him. Chavis uses a sitout gourdbuster, Mafia kick and the Spinesplitta to end the carnage. Afterwards, Jeff Lewis launches a premeditated attack and beats him by the entranceway. Unfortunately for the Feature Presentation, the Human Holocaust had the Final Solution. Chavis promptly applies the Hillside Strangla while Jeff G Bailey reads the Riot Act. Several referees head out to plead their case and Chavis finally obliges.
COMMENTS: Obviously, the crowd enjoyed Chavis’s shear brutality because Buck couldn’t garner any crowd sympathy. Good postmatch angle furthering their feud.
- “The Instigator of Disaster” Greg Hunter sets out to interview NWA Owner Jerry Palmer about Fright Night 2007 and Nemesis heinous attack on Shadow Jackson. Palmer doesn’t care to hear from Nemesis even if Hunter wants to interview him. Palmer emphasizes that Nemesis refuses to answer phone calls. Hunter asks Palmer about Jeremy Vain receiving a rematch with Fields and Palmer says it’s a closed book. Hunter asks about a big announcement, but we should wait as we have a match in the ring. d**n, a Greg Hunter interview without an incident. It’s going to snow in Key West Florida tonight. Wait a minute, that’ll never happen unless there’s Global Cooling.
4. Sal Rinauro and Tony Santarelli wrestled to a draw.
The crowd trades dualing chants early on while the two combatants work it up with nice mat wrestling. After commercial, Rinauro goes on an offensive flurry after escaping the Japanese Strangle Hold. Santarelli lands a kick to mush in response to an atomic drop attempt. He nearly decapitates Rinauro with a clothesline and scores a two count. Santarelli displays frustration and shoulderblocks Rinauro to the floor. Rinauro returns to the ring apron and lands a turnbuckle smash. Rinauro heads to the High Rent District and leaps into Santarelli’s submission finisher. Rinauro prepares to tap, but the bell rings to signify the limit has expired. Santarelli throws a hissy fist in response to the referee’s decision.
COMMENTS: This was a good match, but neither wrestler had any crowd interaction whatsoever except to rally Rinauro. With little storyline between the two except for Rinauro pinning Santarelli a while back, the fans just wasn’t into it.
5. Slim J & the Awesome Attraction (Austin Creed & Hayden Young) defeated the Devil’s Rejects (Azreal & Shaun Tempers & Patrick Bentley) w/”the Reverend” Dan Wilson & the Staff of Righteousness.
Azreal and Bentley are extremely freaky and in rare form for this pre-Halloween TV taping. Slim J & the Attraction dominate the opening moments until Bentley lands a quick knee to the gut. Young fights off the Rejects, sets up for a rana on Bentley in the Rejects corner and Tempers allows him to crash and burn by grabbing the tights. Azreal tags in and plasters Young’s face with a series of knees. Bentley joins in the fun and unleashes hell with a leaping double knee and a hard clothesline for a two count. The crowd rallies behind Young as Azreal applies a chinlock. Young escapes and runs right into a clothesline. Azreal applies a body scissors as we head into commercial. Back from commercial break, Young escapes the hold and tosses Azreal off the middle turnbuckle. Young sets up for a high risk maneuver, ducks something and connects with a vicious snap driver. Creed receives the hot tag and he just beats the crap out of the Rejects. He connects with the rolling clothesline on Tempers. Creed makes the cover, but Bentley makes the save. Slim J has had enough and beats the living tar out of Bentley. The crowd pops as both men flip over the top rope to the floor. Slim J continues his assault on Bentley until he meets Iceberg at the entrance ramp. Slim J smartly back away as the Rejects set up for the Hellhammer on Creed. Young makes the save with a dropkick. Creed counters a Tempers powerbomb with a victory roll for the win.
- Afterwards, Jerry Palmer has a special envelope for one Austin “Truth and Consequences” Creed. We immediately cut to Bill Behrens listing NWA Wildside and NWA Anarchy alumni AJ Styles, Hotstuff Hernandez, Abyss and Ron Killings. Creed filled in as Killing’s tag partner and delivered a good performance and received a TNA contract. The fans chanted “Thank you Austin” as the show goes off the air.
