RPW TV Taping Report for Sept 4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Dave Whitaker:
Pro Wrestling had its regular bi-weekly TV taping Saturday at Johnny G's Fun Center in Warner Robins, GA. Two weeks of shows were taped as well as two matches for the 30-minute Rampage Rewind program. There was a good crowd despite being without one of it's main TV outlets (more on that later.) I arrived late as I was unaware of the 7 pm start time but have results for the entire taping.
Taped for Rampage Rewind:
Mr. Jones defeated Preston Paradise
Simon Sermon defeated Drew Adler (Unsure if other members of Exotic Ones were at ringside for match.)
First hour:
Sugar Dunkerton defeated Anthony Andrews.
Usual Suspects (AJ Steele & Murder One) beat Killer Instinct ("Mean" Mike Stratus & "The Real Deal" Jake Slater).
"Marvelous" Michael Stevens defeated Tommy 2 Much (with Big Bank Barfield & Simon Sermon) Finish came when the ref tried to eject Simon from ringside. He refused to go and got tangled up with the ref. Usual Suspects sneaked in, laid out Tommy and put Marv on top.
Shaun Banks retains the RPW Heavyweight Title by defeating Kyle Matthews (with Jimmy Rave). Ref bump, The All Star (Cru Jones) grabbed the title belt. Rave stopped Jones from interfering but then walloped Matthews, allowing Banks to hit a top rope elbow for the pin. Rave walked out before the match ended.
Hour two:
"The All Star" Cru Jones (with "Coach Banks" (wearing cut-off blue jean shorts, t-shirt, ballcap and barking over a megaphone) beaet Steven Stiles.
After the match, Jones called out Sugar Dunkerton, noting that he "eats pieces of crap like him for breakfast." Dunkerton pointed out that Jones just admitted to eating crap for breakfast, then said, "I'm done" and walked off leaving Jones to claim that wasn't what he meant.
"Do or Die" Chip Day vs. Kyle Matthews was thrown out. Before the match began, Rave offered an apology to Matthews, saying he was jealous of Matthews' opportunity. He then told Matthews, "I have one thing to say to you. You've been replaced." Day attacked Matthews from behind and laid him out. Rave told Matthews that he was nothing without him and called him a loser. Rave spit on Matthews before leaving the ring with Day.
RPW TV Champion J-Rod defeated Waylon Garrett. Wasn't announced as a title match.
Jimmy Rave (with Chip Day) defeated Heavyweight Champ Shaun Banks (with "The All Star" Cru Jones) by disqualification when Kyle Matthews attacked Rave. Both seconds were ejected from ringside during the match.
Notes: RPW has seen its coverage decrease. as WGXA Fox 24 did not air the program this week and seemed unsure about its status for next week. The show airs weekly on Cox Cable 11 and Valley Cable in Fort Valley (both local access.) The only Middle Georgia-wide broadcast of RPW is Rampage Rewind which airs Saturday and Sunday mornings at 2 am. RPW is in discussions with other Macon TV stations and are also looking to get TV access in Cordele so they can begin running cards there...Kyle Matthews is set to go on tour with Japan's Zero One...The reason RPW has not been on WGXA Fox 24 is because of other programming including SEC Football and Major League Baseball.
